Flock of Dogs is being made in Unity for PC/Mac at this time. It is built for local co-op for 2-8 players, on a single screen, with dreams of an online multiplayer some day. There are a variety of roles. Some requiring excellent twin stick shooter skills and other roles focusing on smart management and timing. The flying dogs can die and new flying puppies can be bred, but the whale suffers permadeath. If the whale dies, the game comes to an end. For completing a run, the target time is 2 hours. Cooperation is a core component of Flock of Dogs and it currently does not support single player. The game is being played and tested with Xbox 360 controllers and PS3 controllers (with appropriate software) and one player can use mouse and keyboard, if needed.
Except for the duck monster drawn by Sarah May, and the frog guy with the big tongue and big teeth, drawn by Ted Larson, everything else in the game is being made solo by me, Max Clark. So find a group of friends and a collection of controllers and maybe a USB hub and prepare to take flight...sometime in the future :)
